What is mineral exploration investment
Investing in the exploration for and evaluation of mineral resources is an investment in the future. In general, geological exploration is a complex of works aimed at identifying mineral deposits and preparing them for industrial use. Depending on the scale of the works and their tasks, the Geological Survey includes regional and detailed geological, geophysical, geochemical, aerospace and other surveys, mining and drilling works, geological documentation of wells and other mining operations, as well as the selection, analysis and technological testing of mineral samples.
Geological prospecting drilling for solid minerals is one of the stages of exploration and mine development before drilling works and is the most important. Drilling of geological exploration wells is carried out to confirm the existence of minerals at this location. Also gives an opportunity to estimate their volume.
Despite the high exploration costs for mining companies, the prospecting drilling is the most effective way of obtaining information about the geological structure of the territory. This is the only way to discover new mineral deposits thus providing real growth of mineral reserves. Other methods (3d, 4d, seismic, new technologies of the gravitational survey, active and passive microseismic) allow only to detect the search object, but not to discover the deposit.
Systematic work on the development of geological information systems is carried out in Kazakhstan. The reference-analytical system of the mineral-raw material base on hydrocarbon raw materials, groundwater and 35 main kinds of solid minerals has been created.
All this is done as a part of the mineral exploration investment attraction plan in order to ensure that potential investors will have not only subsoil use data and report card files available online but also the specified resulting cartographic materials.
What is a mineral exploration
Geological exploration works consist of several types of activities. These are several types of photography: space, topographical, geodetic, aerial, and others.
The list of works includes search, economic, and analytical types of researches. It is impossible to find any deposits for future development without exploration activity. It involves the implementation of six stages of mineral exploration.
- The first stage involves the performance of regional surveying and geophysical works.
- In the second stage of exploration activities, the search for potential fossil sites is carried out. Performing common searches involves locating sites where valuable deposits are supposed to be located. Such sites include potential deposits, the high probability of which is caused by geological exploration and mining geology studies.
- The third step of geological exploration involves preliminary work on determining the industrial scale of the found field.
-
The fourth stage is the main reconnaissance stage. This is a serious work requiring serious preparation, use of special equipment and mineral exploration techniques, so their execution begins only after the third stage, proved the feasibility of work on a particular site, is over.
The fifth stage is a kind of additional exploration of deposits. The works are performed in the areas that were studied in detail during the previous stage.
- In the sixth stage, the operational survey is carried out together with the preparatory works. The stage is very important, as it is carried out before the purification works and is the preparatory stage before the extraction of minerals. The importance of mineral exploration survey is difficult to underestimate because it provides more accurate data on the structure, conditions of occurrence and quality of extracted fossils.
Mineral exploration and mining
Diversity natural resources of Kazakhstan are the subject of close attention from foreign investors. The unique natural mineral base including precious and rare earth metals can be a weighty argument for perspective investing. The Republic of Kazakhstan is also part of the World Club of monopoly producers of such metals as Rhenium and Gallium, as well as the isotope of Osmium-187.
It is used in aerospace, rocket, modern technologies, as well as for a catalyst in the synthesis of many drugs. The raw material for the Kazakh isotope of osmium-187 is the minerals that can be mined in the Zhezkazgan deposit. 0.02 percent of the Osmium is extracted from 100 grams of ore. This is considered the best indicator in the world.
Nowadays Kazakh’s mining companies find mineral deposits of rare metals that are considered to be strategic types of natural mineral raw materials. They form the basis of the leading branches of production, providing economic and defense security of any state. Reserves of such metals can be accumulated and sold more expensive than gold in crisis situations.
